Small's: your favorite neighborhood corner bar and rock venue all in one. Located in the wonderful city of Hamtramck, nested in the heart of Detroit, MI, Small's is the area's premiere independent music venue.

Our front room is home to an art deco-era bar stocked with more than 50 beers including local and national craft labels, European brands and your favorite lawnmower beer in cold 24 oz. cans. Down the hall in our live room, Small's hosts national and local bands and DJs several nights a week. Check out our calendar for details.


Small's was established in 1999. Our building, originally a bank, dates back to 1923.


Small's has been featured in Maxim, Travel and Leisure, Guitar World and other national outlets.
Locally we've been named "Best Live Music Bar" twice by MetroMix, "Best Bar on Paczki Day" three times by Real Detroit Weekly and "Best Sound and Lights" and "Best Venue Website" by Metro Times.

After raising thousands for worthy causes like Enough SAID Detroit, Turning Point domestic violence shelter and the Ruth Ellis Center, this year we are donating net proceeds from the door and silent auction to the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center

(from Axl to Elvis to Madonna to Gaga) or a character from a song
(Devil in a Blue Dress, Werewolf of London) and sing some karaoke. 
You don't have to dress up or sing, but it is more fun if you do!

All for a great cause! Proceeds to benefit Jail Guitar Doors and the Adcraft Detroit Scholarship Fund.

This is the very first Indie Discotheque,
with special guest DJ Chris Rohn, direct from Germany

Indie Discotheque celebrates the bands, producers, remixers, button pushers, hand wavers, shoegazers, beat breakers and everything that falls between the cracks. This party is the ultimate in alternative dance, the creme de la creme in one, 6-hour marathon set.

Friday, November 23rd - Girls Rock Detroit Fundraiser

$10 cover - proceeds go towards new drum equipment for Girls Rock Detroit summer camp.

In attempt to raise money for Girls Rock Detroit summer camp drum sets, we are putting on a fun show. You don't want to miss this line up! Jim Cherewick, Girl Fight, The Creepos, and Krillin! Also, for art lovers, we will be having a silent art auction, featuring some local art talent, artists tba soon. Buy a new piece for your home, or for a thoughtful gift during the holiday season, all while contributing to a great cause. A portion of art sales will be donated to purchase new drum equipment. And why not have a little rummage sale as well? We gotta raise some cash so the drummer gals at camp can have solid drum equipment.

We always make the best with what we have, but there are much needed improvements to be made. Please come out and help us reach our goal of $1000!��!��!��
